Monday, Monday

I use to hate Monday, by Sunday evening I was already dreading it.  I was like the character in Judith Viorst's poem "If I Were in Charge of the World", for I too would have outlawed Mondays.  I don't even want to think about the number of times I was "sick" on Monday.  And oh how I grumbled when I was there.
Being retired has brought a whole new attitude towards Mondays, it's so nice and peaceful here.  All my neighbors have gone back to work, no one's mowing their lawn, the fair weather walkers are back in their offices and in a couple of weeks the kids, who never play outside anyway, will soon be back in school.
So I can sleep in, except I wasn't supposed to today, my car had an appointment for a check-up and tire rotation.  It was for 9:30 am.  Did I make it?  Of course not!  It is rescheduled for tomorrow, guess we'll set the alarm clock tonight, we're getting just a bit too casual about getting up early.  I know that when your work 9:30 am isn't early, but it is now.  I love retirement.

  1. I like Mondays as it is the start to a new week and chances to get things done again. :-)

Loved the photo of your kitty sleeping on the stairs banister. Cats are very funny creatures and that is why we love them so much!

  2. I often wish that Sunday lawn-mowing could be outlawed. (Not that any lawns are being mowed around here - they're all dead.)

    Enjoy your week!
