Air Conditioning

When does your air conditioner go out?  When temperatures are consistently in the upper 80's that's when, of course.  We're lucky, I think, in that we have two units, one for the upstairs and one for downstairs, and even luckier, really lucky, that our best friend just finished a tech school course in heating and air conditioning repair.  He couldn't get the part on Saturday because everyone was closed for the holiday weekend, but he was here this morning to put the part in, it was a capacitor, don't ask, I have no idea, a relatively inexpensive part.
So thank you Mike, you're worth your weight in 7 Layer Mexican Bean Dip----I always fix it for him when he comes over.

  3. Isn't that the way it always is. I just tried turning the air on for the first time last week and it was dead. The repair guy told me I was going to have to replace the whole unit. I actually am using an air handler rental until I can afford to replace the old one. Is this how it's always going to be with home ownership? When you need to use something it breaks. Just bought my first home a few months ago and so far I have had to replace my hot water heater, my sump pump and now my air conditioning unit. Does it ever end? Thanks for the great post!

  34. It really is interesting to think about what could happen during the holidays. That definitely is something that I never would think of on my own. It is unfortunate that you had to deal with your AC during the holidays, but it sounds like it was able to be taken care of for the most part. That is a great repair man right there.
