After Christmas

Christmas was wonderful: presents were opened, way too much food was eaten, dvds were watched, books were read, talks were had, the cat didn't pout too much.
Now she's gone, put on the plane to Japan this morning ( I miss her already), but I know she's going to where she needs to be, where she's happy, where she's made a life for herself.  It's a long flight, 16 hours of flying and more of layovers.  We more than appreciate that she made this trip for us.
We won't be going over to see her till 2016, but she'll be back  for Christmas next year and every week we'll Skype, that'll have to keep us going.
But for now I have the memories of this Christmas to treasure.

  1. I can't even begin to imagine how much I would miss my daughter or sons if they were living so far away. I guess I am the one living abroad! But Switzerland is very close to Scotland and visits are frequent. Have a lovely weekend. x

  4. Japan seems to be the other side of the world--quite literally. If she's safe and happy that's the best place for her--but so difficult for you!

  6. That must have been a bitter sweet experience but so worth the letting go again to have her with you for Christmas. Take it easy, I suggest more over indulgence.

  7. You have probably said in an earlier post, but I was wondering why your daughter is in Japan. What a great opportunity for a young person, to spend time in a foreign country and culture. Skype is a wonderful thing for keeping in touch with faraway family and friends.

  8. Cynthia, you works in IT for an international company and lives in Fukuoka, Japan. It has been her dream for years to live in Japan and her dream came true this year.
