Five on Friday

Where do the weeks go?  It's Friday so time to join Amy at Love Made My Home for Five on Friday.  No theme, just some stuff that stuck in my head this week.

First:  The leaves have finally changed colors and dropped here, a little late, but so pretty.  Mac brought me in some to enjoy.  Don't know what I'm going to do with them, but they're so pretty.

We call it a Red Maple, it's one of our few hardwoods, we mainly have pine trees

Second:  I got tired of my hair this week so I cut about 2 inches off of it, mostly split ends anyway.  Don't enjoy going to the beauty shop, that's right up there with trying on clothes.  So anyway armed with Mac's scissors I whacked it.

I never take a good picture, I always smirk

Third:  This is a close-up of the new top I'm wearing, love the kitties.  It was time for a few new tops, some of mine were getting threadbare from being washed so many times.  I like turtlenecks in the winter to keep my neck warm.

Fourth:  If you noticed the green band I'm wearing in the picture its a Fitbit wannabe.  If I ever figure out exactly how to use it I'll like it better.  This morning's walk got me 4800 steps and my exercise got me 2900 more, so I've got 7700 steps if I don't move the rest of the day.

Fifth:  Is the music that has stuck in my head since my aerobics.  It's the Gipsy Kings doing a cover of the Eagles Hotel California.  It was used in the movie The Big Lebowski one of my favorite movies.

  1. I do need to sort my split ends out too Janet and I hate going go to the hairdresser. May just have to copy you here. I don't understand titbits either. My daughter has one and lives it though. Have a wonderful weekend x

  3. I am not a fan of the hairdressers either, I go due to necessity. I don't understand titbits either but anything to do with technology is not for me. How thoughtful bringing in the leaves they are indeed very pretty. Have a good weekend.

a reminder that in three months it will be our turn in the Southern Hemisphere to welcome Autumn again!
As I've got older my hairs got thinner and difficult to manage..... c'est la vie!

  5. Beautiful leaves, such vibrant colours. Your hair looks fab, I wish I could cut my own, I have to have it cut every 5 weeks, so I would save a fortune. I love your new jumper, it is gorgeous. Have a lovely weekend xx

  6. I agree with you at how quick the weeks go, shame that goes for weekends too! Split ends are the bane of my life so well done you on being brave enough to dismiss them yourself. Have a wonderful weekend and keep warm xxx

  7. The leaves are very pretty. I'm never enjoy going to get my hair cut but I have to get it done about every eight weeks or so or it looks a mess. Lovely to have a jumper with kitties on it:)

  10. Good of Mac to bring in the leaves. The colours are lovely. My husband used to cut my hair and did a good job before I found a hairdresser where we live now. Catchy music and good for aerobics.

  11. Hate having haircuts and trying on clothes too!! Your leaves are beautiful, so nice of Mac to collect them, you will have to save them all for when the rest of us are enjoying leaves and you can pretend and join in! Well done on your wannabe numbers, it is good to see how much you are walking isn't it. Thank you for joining Five On Friday, happy weekend! xx

  12. I had my hair cut yesterday - I wouldn't have the courage to cut my own, but I cut my husbands.
I saw a pretty glass bowl that someone had filled with autumn leaves which displayed them nicely

  13. It's been almost a year since I bought my fitbit, and I love it! It has helped get back into shape, and hopefully in a couple of years, I can say that it helped keep me there.

I also hate going to the salon, and am lucky if I get there once a year to tidy the mop up a bit. I try to take good care of it, so that I don't have to go very often.

  14. I am famous for cutting my own hair, looks like you did a great job. All of our leaves have just blown off the trees, our are not colorful, just brown as we are to far south in Florida.
    Happy Weekend,
    Meredith

  16. Those leaves are pretty cool as is your top. You're brave cutting your own hair, my sister (hairdresser) used to do mine and now a friends daughter does (another hairdresser) so I think I'm pretty lucky.

  19. I love the way there have been colored leaves here for many weeks. It's not as spectacular as the sudden, short burst of color up north but it certainly focuses attention on each tree as it changes. We are at this very minute having snow flurries! I was not expecting to see that here.

  20. My hair needs cutting too, why do fringes grow so quickly! I hate going to the hairdressers and try and cut it myself but it usually ends up lopsided so I have to go anyway and get it sorted. Love the colour of your new top, I need to get one of those fitness bands too everyone seems to be getting them they must motivate you I think, just have to decide which one to get there's so many different types, I need easy and cheap. Have a great weekend. :)

  21. Brave lady, to cut your own hair! I like your kitty top - very sweet.
I think I'll have to get myself one of those step counters. I think it would be very motivating!
