I Don't Like Mondays

She lives in my laundry room, love her sign
When I worked I hated Mondays, not my job, just the whole rigmarole of getting up and starting a new week.  Well it hasn't gotten any better since I retired.  I still don't like Mondays.  After a weekend I feel obligated to get up and do some serious cleaning and today that involved cleaning all the wood in our bedroom, took forever.  I'm tempted to start looking for some plastic furniture.
Last night we started watching another program based on Agatha Christie books, Partners in Crime, Tuppence and Tommy.  This version stars Jessica Raine, who we've never seen before though I understand she's been in a number of things including Call the Midwife, and David Walliams who we know from the Blandings series.  Nice little series and we're enjoying it, but then I pretty much enjoy all of the things based on Agatha's works.

  1. When I worked I had Sunday and Monday off so I kinda like Mondays! It is still my day to get organized for the week and get last minute I should have done that stuff done! :)

  2. Now that I am retired, Monday is my favorite day of the week. Before I retired, I would get depressed on Sunday knowing Monday was next and another whole week of driving and working. Plastic furniture sounds good to me. I am sick of dusty walls and furniture!

  3. I remember that feeling well but more from school than work. The dread of another week at school used to kick in around Sunday lunch time I think I was far happier in an adult working world than at secondary school. We quite enjoyed the Tommy and Tuppence series:)

  4. I am not keen on Mondays, mostly because that's the day when the alarm clock goes off again... Most mornings are quite manic, too many children to get out of the house. Not sure if I like the sound of plastic furniture! My solution is to have a blind eye for all things dust :-)

  5. I love Tuppence and Tommy. But of course--they're Agatha Christie.

  6. Everyday is much of a muchness these days, I don't seem to have a specific day for jobs in particular. I clean when it needs doing, I bake when I need to and do the laundry when I need to. It certainly makes life interesting.

  7. I love Mondays, now that I'm retired. It's time to catch up on the house after slacking off on the weekend. I neglected the house today though and did some spring cleaning outside. I'm pooped!

  8. I didn't watch the Parners In Crime series when it was on here as I'm working my way through all of Agatha Christie's books so I didn't want to spoil them, it got some good reviews though. Jessica Raine has been in another programme which has just finished here called Jericho about a fictional shanty town in the Yorkshire Dales which springs up around the construction of a railway viaduct in the 1870's. I really enjoyed it. I still don't like Mondays rolling around even though I no longer work and I still get that Friday feeling too, the start of the weekend.

  9. I think Monday's come around too quickly ...
Friday's are a brilliant day, it seems no matter our age 'It's the Weekend' feeling can take over!

    All the best Jan

  10. I'm a big fan of Mondays, it's Sunday's I have problems with. David Walliams is a superb actor, I enjoy him in anything. And yes, it is the Bampton of Downton Abbey, the shop is just a minute or so from the church and area where they filmed various bits. The dog litter bin used to get disguised as an old post box when they were shooting episodes!
