Five on Friday

The weeks they do fly by.  We've had beautiful weather all week and I've got a bit of cabin fever, plus a dose of allergies to go with it.
I'm joining in with Amy at Love Made My Home, do go and visit the others who are joining in there.

As much as I liked decorating for Easter it was time for a change, so all the bunnies, lambs and eggs have been sent back upstairs for another year.  Now it's time for springy looking stuff.

First is my table, where as I always say, no one sits or eats.

Second is a closer look at some of the thing on the table.
This was a gift from Mac, no maker's mark, but it's handprinted, and so pretty.
I believe it's a berry bowl and should have a plate under it.

This is a berry or vegetable bowl and it does have its plate.  Looks
very 30ish to me, I bought it in England.

This is another plate from England, it's Royal Winton.

Third is a pair of jugs, they're Clarice Cliff who I love.

Fourth are some paintings by Mac,

Fifth is a sad farewell to  a great entertainer, Prince.  I always preferred him to Michael Jackson.  He wrote all his own music, played multiple instruments, was an actor, and made movies, loved Purple Rain.
He was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe for his music written for movies.  While I was exercising yesterday his song Red Corvette came up on my MP3, when I finished I came out and saw the news that he'd died.  So sad, he still had so much more to give.

That's my Five, hope you have a great weekend.

  2. Hi there! You have a lovely collection of bowls; very beautiful. And I thought the painting was a photo it looked so realistic. Thank you so much for your kind comment on my blog. I'm looking forward to enjoying our cooler weather this weekend. I hope you have a lovely weekend, too. Hugs, Pat

  3. Your table looks so elegant with the pretty dishes. So sad about Prince. He was from and lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was well loved there. Last night my daughter sent me photos of two of the big bridges in the city lit up with purple in his honor.

  6. I love the berry dishes. I've always liked Clarice Cliff's designs. The school nearby here is named after her as she was a local lady. I'm reading a biography of her at the moment and enjoying the descriptions of Stoke in the days of smoking pot banks and terraced houses. I also like the stoneware bottles and jars in Mac's paintings. Have a lovely weekend:)

  7. You have some lovely treasures to display, I especially like those berry bowls. Very sad news about Prince, we're losing so many great entertainers this year.

  8. I do like all the colours in the dishes and flowers on your table, a joy to look at.

It was sad to read about Prince, we do seem to be losing a lot of stars recently.

Hope your weekend is good, with not too much sneezing!

    All the best Jan

  9. Nice five photos. I especially like that berry dish. The arches in my Istanbul photo were from the Sultan's palace, on the porch overlooking the harbor.

  12. Love the dishes you have shown us! My mother in law used a beautiful little saucer with pale blue flowers on it as an ASHTRAY for one of her guests! It was just an old dish to her but I was truly horrified! (I didn't say anything of course!) I also love Clarice Cliff, I only know the name from Antiques Roadshow! LOL.
