Saturday in the Swamp

Up before 8am this morning and it was already 80º, so off to walk.  I was so hot by the time we got back I pulled off my shorts and top, grabbed my swimming suit top and jumped in the pool.  It felt so good.  When I got out I just kept my wet undies on and put back on my shorts and top.  It's going to be miserable today, we had to put the air condoning on by 11:30.  I manage a little vacuuming, a bit of ironing, and my aerobics, I'm through.
The other day Cynthia at I'm Retired -Adventure of a Simpler Life wrote about the local fresh fish store in her town and I told her we had one too and that Mac had made a painting of it.  Stopped by there the other day and he took a photo of the painting (from about 10 feet away so it may be a little out of focus) and a photo of the store.  Ken, who owns the place, says he gets a lot of compliments on the painting.
A very cool lunch today, ham sandwiches and deviled eggs plus a green bean salad.  Too hot to eat much. I have some sewing I need to do and then it's back in the pool for me.

  1. A swimming pool sounds good this time of year. Mac's picture is so realistic at first I thought you were showing two photos of the same store.

  3. It is hot here too, our pool was 90 degrees today before and afternoon rain cooled it off a bit.

  5. The painting is very realistic. We are having wet stormy weather tonight but not like you have been getting in the states - it's tragic what's happening in Virginia.

  6. It must be lovely to have a pool to cool down in when your weather is so hot. I like Mac's painting of the fish shop:)

  9. Being able to cool off in the pool is so lovely. We're enjoying very pleasant weather here today after some cooler temps. Mac's painting of the fish shop is great.

  10. To be able to cool off in a pool is just great ...
Eating things like deviled eggs plus a green bean salad when it's hot is a very good idea.

    All the best Jan

  11. We actually had a "cool" weekend here, temps in the mid 100's. There is a difference LOL between 120 and 108, go figure :) Low humidity has its benefits.

We are learning to eat less and to move more slower in the hot days and so enjoying evenings in the pool :)

  12. That shade of blue must be "the" color for fish markets! Every one I can think of right now is that exact shade. There is even a little one way out here in the country near us, only open Thursday-Saturday, that is that color. So nice you have a pool to enjoy. This is certainly the place to have one.

  13. Love the painting. It's a dull day in the UK - typical summer!

  18. That's a really nice painting if the fish store. As I keep saying I am SO glad I don't have to cope with your heat and humidity. All we're coping with here is constant rain!
