Just Another Day in the Swamp

I've had Mac chained up to his easel lately, he sold 2 paintings this week so he needs to restock.  This isn't one of them, it's for us, but he'll probably make one for sale too.
Today was a frustrating day.  We have DirectTV and seldom have problems with it, but for a week the program guide hasn't worked right, showing what's on till about noon and then just saying regular programing for the rest of the day.  So I called DirecTV today, spent a half an hour on the phone with someone who was more interested in selling me new services instead of dealing with my problem, I wasn't happy.
Then it was into town to run errands, loads of backed-up traffic as they're installing new traffic lights and so the police were directing traffic and it took forever to get through the intersection.
Home now and many things to do so I'm off.

This is one of the paintings that  sold this week, it's on it's way to Virginia, the other, of a little African-American boy fishing with his dog
is on its way to Seattle, Washington

  2. I love the paintings, especially the first one! I hate, loathe and detest having to phone "customer service" ....... the last thing you get from them is service!!

  4. Getting inspired....my paints have been on the back burner for too long.

Love the paintings. Just feeling in both of them.

UGGGG ~ dealing on the phone with people can be so frustrating... "Just answer my question please, don't try to sell me anything new....Yikes!!!!

Hope the day gets better!!! Hugs.

  6. I do like the painting iconic America. Don't get me started on customer service especially if I can't understand them and they say their name is Tom or such like.

  7. This digital age can be so difficult to deal with at times. My TV has a recorder that links to the current programmes for the next week, and mine suddenly vanished, so I was unable to record ahead. I completely reprogrammed the TV and the recorder as per the shops suggestion and nothing happened. I then arranged for someone to come out, at a significant cost of course, but luckily it suddenly all came back and I had time to cancel them. My reprogramming must have worked but been rather delayed.

  9. I don't watch TV anymore, that's my husband's domain, and he's welcome to it. I hope you were able to get your problems sorted though. Traffic in our town is awful lately, and there's no reason for it except that people are being so aggressive and in such a hurry! All day long. I hate going out sometimes.

  10. We had so many problems with Direct TV, we could only get it to work on one TV and then that one quit, so we gave them up for local Cable. Every time they came out it was a service call charge and they never fixed the problem. It is the same amount of channels for half the price, since then I keep getting their mail with the offer of $200 Visa cards if we sign back up.
Keep on painting Mac! I really like the Buffalo:)

  11. Oh, these paintings are wonderful! We have satellite t.v., too - 'Dish t.v., and have lots of issues at times. I just read that there were solar-storms this week that would interfere with satellite reception - perhaps that is the cause. Sometimes we lose our reception for hours. I hate having to call in. The call desk is in India and I have difficulty understanding their accents. I thought mine was bad.....grew up in Boston. Haha! Hope it all gets resolved for you. x Karen

    1. It finally straightened itself out yesterday afternoon after being out for a week, no reason, the guide just started working again. Maybe it was a solar storm.

  13. Wonderful paitings no wonder they are selling well. We seem to have so many road works and hold ups on our roads around here lately it seem to take forever to get to places that are normally reached in minutes:)

  16. Beautiful paintings. Mac is a talented artist. I'm enjoying the freedom to get out and about again and go into town by tram, but this week has been the school half term holiday so trams, streets and shops were crowded and noisy. I was glad to get home to have a rest. I hope you and Mac have a relaxing weekend with no frustrating moments.
