Monday, Monday

To quote a friend (Marilyn who posted this on Facebook), what do you call a person who's happy
on Monday---RETIRED!
Beautiful Autumn day, good walk this morning, load of laundry washed and hung out, cupboard doors cleaned, floors, Swiffered and a good mystery finished---The Kill by Jane Casey, she writes a series that features Maeve Kerrogan, a DC on London's murder squad.  Each book just gets better, if you like police procedurals you'll like this series.
Time to go practice piano, exercise, and do a bit of cross-stitch, Mondays are great.

  2. I don't work but I still have that Monday feeling, I'm not sure if I feel it on Mick's behalf or if it's just how I'm programmed to feel now.

  3. This made me smile!! Although Malcolm has been retired for 11 years (he took early retirement the week before his 53rd birthday), we maintain a structure to the week, so every Monday when I get up, I feel enthusiastic for the week ahead ...... some of my friends don't differentiate between weekdays and weekends.

  5. That certainly made me smile, we took early retirement but we do like to differentiate between weekdays and weekends. I don't like to have too much of a routine either. Your day certainly sounded good.

  6. Sounds a bit like my retired life. Made Monte Cristo french toast for brunch. Ran some errands to pick up some Rx and a baby gift for a shower this weekend. Finished a novel by Clive Cussler, "The Wrecker", a novel about train wrecks in early 1907. Interesting as the "wrecker" was out to destroy the railroad and Agent Issac Bell was right on his tale. A interesting read!

  7. Retired a year now and I love Mondays too. Rainy day here so didn't rush to get up. A little reading and a few rounds of words with friends on the iPad. Lunch with friends and then a long walk on the beach. What's not to like about Mondays! B xx

  8. So true! I used to get depressed every Sunday afternoon knowing the weekend was about over and I would be back at work for another week. Now Monday is my favorite day.

  11. I need a good dose of retired, and am going to a retirement seminar for public employees tomorrow. Sadly, term runs three more years.

  12. Janet, I always say my weekly calendar has 6 Saturdays and 1 Sunday. That's retirement . I used to dream of retirement, it's nothing like that dream. LOL. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, Susie

  13. So agree with you! When I worked, I always got grouchy on Sunday afternoon. It just ruined Sunday to think of the long week ahead. Being retired is a pleasure that's for sure.
