Can't think why. However, I really like "Catcher in the Rye", all Jane Austen, all Anne Tyler, all Kate Atkinson. Her "Life after Life" is the best book I've read for ages.

Mainly, however, I read biographies, diaries and letters. The other things I give a wide berth are fantasy and science-fiction (unlike you), although I have been occasionally dipping my toe into the water of fantasy in a bid to challenge my preconceptions, with mixed results so far.Carolinehttp://mrsmsmeanderings.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-911604654446032587.post-3296280300116478332014-02-01T15:27:13.009-08:002014-02-01T15:27:13.009-08:00I read a few Danielle Steel and Jilly Cooper books...I read a few Danielle Steel and Jilly Cooper books in my teens and don't think I could ever read one now - I tried an Enid Blyton Famous Five book a few years ago too and thought it hadn't stood the test of time at all.
I'm not keen on Jodi Picoult either although she keeps coming up at book group!
At the moment I'm reading A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry which I'm really enjoying and I loved The Night Circus a year or so ago.
I would always read any Michael Morpurgo book with my kids, he's a superb writer.Jayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08805509603176943176noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-911604654446032587.post-66839354804478717042014-01-30T09:03:47.752-08:002014-01-30T09:03:47.752-08:00Romances! Love Russian authors though :) Love the Bronte sisters, all the older English authors, won't read scifi, horror or fantasy. I used to read lots of historical fiction now I prefer crime and detective novels especially modern stuff but also with 1930s settings both original like Tey, Allingham etc but also modern writers who use that period like Jaqueline Winspear:)Rosiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04733563829902335223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-911604654446032587.post-7591809844240371962014-01-29T19:07:35.986-08:002014-01-29T19:07:35.986-08:00LOL -- I love your list.
