54th

Don't know if this blog still exist or not. But I am going to give a try. Yesterday was to be 54th anniversary I went to the cemetery and gave a porcelain teddy bear and elephant, two of her favorite critters. I would like to post some of her drawings which I keep finding in drawers and closets.

Sorry about the quality of the scanning, It's hard to scan something in a book. Anyway if anybody reads this, Bless Them.   Mac

  1. Dear Mac. Yes, this blog still is out here, and I am glad it is. It is lovely to remember Janet by seeing her art. Thank you for sharing. I hope you are coping ok. All those firsts without Janet must be really hard. I am sure she would have loved the teddy bear and elephant porcelain figures. Lots of love, Christina x

  2. Dear Mac: yes, it is still out here and so good to know you are there as well. I like to go back and read some of the older posts (especially when my Mom 1st decided to try chemo for stage 4 stomach cancer this April but she decided after 1 1/2 treatments that she would not do any more chemo. She is still with us and I think of you and I think of Janet. I am so sorry for your loss and pray you do well. (my mom is still mourning the loss of my father, he passed just a bit longer than a year ago, age 90, on 8/29/2018) All the 1st can be a little tough but "we" are out here and praying for you, Mac!!

  4. Dear Mac - I am reading it. It is good to know that you can write about her andtake comfort from doing so. I know from my own experience how important memories are - it is two years now since my dear farmer died and I miss him daily but do get comfort from writing about memories. Hope you do too.

  11. I'm so glad you shared these drawings. I love seeing them. What a gift she had, and what lovely remembrances of your travel adventures together. I was just wondering how you are doing. I have dinosaurs in my kitchen window. I moved one the other day, and it let out a decidedly Godzilla-like roar. It made me smile as it brought Janet to mind.

  16. Bless you, Mac for sharing Janet's art! I know you must be ready for cooler weather, this summer has been brutal. I love the little critters you got for Janet 's grave. I just got a bouquet of the artificial flowers for my Dad's grave, but I had to make some flowers from jute to go with them. It's that personal touch, isn't it? It has great meaning. Take care and Go Braves! (I know Janet loved them too!)

I miss reading Janet's updates, about your daughter in Japan, your artwork, her reading--all those things that made her feel like a good friend though we've never met. I hope you will contine to post, as I would love to keep up with you.

  24. Yes still here. I hope that it helps just a little to know that people are still thinking of you and Janet. My son is in Japan again. We commiserated about that when your daughter left for Japan. He arrived in Tokyo in time for a typhoon so we had a worrying night.

  26. Dear Mac - sending you so many good wishes from across the pond. I have only just read of your loss, which must be unbearable. I lost my partner some seven years ago and it was agony. We will miss her, but know that you have 'strangers-who-are-friends' out there and sending you and your daughter silent support.
