A Good Week

I'm finished with my second round of chemo with 2 more sessions to go.  Came through it better than last time and feeling very grateful for that.  Next session adds the radiation.
Good some good news, not about the cancer, but from Delta.  Before this had all began we had booked first class tickets ($10,700) to go see our daughter in Japan.  They were nonrefundable tickets.   Well Mac got letters from my doctors, wrote a good letter to Delta and they're refunding our money.  We're thrilled.
Now if everything else can go as easily.

  1. I'm glad to hear that this session was 'better' than the first, although I'm sure still not a joy. I've sometimes thought that cancer is no respecter of persons--sometimes we see lifestyle that leads to the issue, other times--its just there. Hopefully treatment options are improving all the time and you will be declared 'cancer-free!'

  14. What a relief that you were able to get a refund. We dealt with something similar after Hurricane Harvey, and it was one less thing to worry about when Air France refunded our tickets due to our circumstances. Praying for your strength and comfort as you fight this battle.

  15. Sending more hugs your way. Keep strong.

I'm glad you got your money back. Hopefully when you're doing better you'll be able to go visit daughter. I hope she's doing okay. I know from experience how tough it is to be so far away from your Mum when she's going through something like you are. Take care of yourself!

  26. Glad you got your money back for the plane tickets, that kind of additional worries is not what one needs in a situation like this. Wish you the best of luck with the rest of the medical treatment.

  27. Good, I am also thankful that Delta did that.
You know, my aunt was just in the hospital, she has stage 4 cancer. Yesterday, I helped her daughter when she was checked out of the hospital. Today, I noticed that one of my blogging friends has written a cookbook and I looked it up and it looks good. It is "The Cancer Fighting Kitchen" by Rebecca Katz.
Now honey, I have NO IDEA if this is any good or not... and I promise you this nice lady does not know me from Adam and I am NOT trying to sell anything...it is just me telling you this, okay? Okay now, I wish you strength and courage dealing with all this. Keep us posted and enjoy your part of Georgia, your Spring might even be further along! xx

  28. That is good news about Delta. So glad your second session was better. Got two behind you already and on your way to getting well. Hope you're having a good Sunday. Oh, I like the name Chief Powder Puff. My daughter says this bunny is too soft and gentle looking to have a strong Indian name. :)

  29. Good Morning Janet, I was last here and read that you were not well and were taking a small break. I've just now read the last three posts updating your situation. Hugs and prayers to you as you go through this. I'm so glad you are getting good care both at the hospital and at home. It can make all the difference when you are surrounded by caring people. It's wonderful that you are also getting your refund from Delta. I hope this chemo session goes well for you, and I'll be saying a prayer for you're continued strength and well being.
