A Bit of a Milestone

Friday I went to the commissary with Mac to grocery shop and I managed to get all of it done without having to sit down and rest.  That may not sound like much to you, but I haven't been to the commissary to shop since February.  Either I was too tired, lacked the energy or I was sick.  Mac had to pick up the slack and he's done a good job.  But I missed doing the shopping, looking at the produce, picking out meat, seeing what was new.
So I did it.  Mac talked to the commissary people and they had a chair set out for me in case I got too tired, but I didn't need it.  I sat down when I was finished, but just as a precaution, I wasn't really tired.  It feels so good to have energy again.
Bar-b-qued ribs, rice and kidney bean salad for lunch today.  It's so muggy here that I want to keep to kitchen cool.
Yesterday I signed up for BritBox and we watched Would I Lie to You one of our favorite shows.
My new header is of Stokesay Castle in Shropshire, a place we've visited many times.  It's less of a castle really and more of a manor house.  Love Mac's painting.

  9. We take the simple things in life for granted, don't we. The lunch sounds perfect. It's so humid here too, just miserable. I keep hoping for rain because it's do dry but nothing yet.

I would love to visit Shropshire as I believe it's a beautiful English county. I'm so glad that you've done something that gives you a sense of wellbeing as you continue on your road to recovery.

  20. I love the new painting in your header! And so good to hear you are getting your energy back. I can't stand to heat up the kitchen much with the humidity this week either. I stuck a chicken in the crockpot out in the sunroom and we are using that for some cold meals.

Guess what, we found out that Richard's family ancestry is rooted in London but one side is from Shopshire! Minsterley is where his great, great grandmother was born. Neither of us has ever been there but we do want to go there now!
Love the painting of the castle/manor house, whatever, it's lovely. x

  25. Wow,the header photo (and by default Mac's painting) is fantastic! I love it. The colors, the shape of the building, the soft blue sky, even the tombstones - just delightful. Perfect frame too.

Woo hoo for you and returning strength! That's great news. :)

  26. That's a major milestone, Well Done! I nearly shouted out loud when I saw your new header - Stokesay Castle is one of my favourite places, we've been visiting for thirty years and were there only a fortnight ago. That tower has scaffolding round it at the moment as the ceiling has fallen down in the tile room. There's scaffolding up around the gatehouse, too. Mac's painting is beautiful! Did you know that many people regard Stokesay Castle as the finest moated manor house in England? At least, we do in Shropshire! Take care Janet, I'm really glad you are moving upwards. x
