Yes, my kitchen table where no one ever eats, but I love to decorate it seasonally. Mac got me more glass pumpkins and a kitty-cat sitting on a real pumpkin and he lights up. We'll put him out on the porch for Halloween.
Got some Chrysanthemums for the front steps and some pansies we haven't potted yet.
I started a new cross-stitch, but I'm afraid I pulled something in my hand and when I use it much it hurts across the palm, so it's going to be slow going.
Finished the mew J.A. Jance Joanna Brady book, Field of Bones, I have to say it was just ok. Hope the next one is better.
Didn't like Robert Galbraith/ J.K. Rowlings latest, Lethal White, as much as the earlier books. Didn't dislike it, just didn't like it as much.
I've started 4 books, but after a chapter or two I deleted them. Can't even remember their names. Now I'm doing a reread Passenger to Frankfurt by Agatha Christie and rereading a bunch of Georgette Heyers----love her books and some of them I've read many times.
Supposed to rain tomorrow and we need it, we'll see.
I always enjoy when you show your decorations. I really don't decorate anymore especially now that I am trying to catch up on 2 years of doing nothing. not fun.
ReplyDeleteYour glass pumpkin is beautiful.
cheers, parsnip and badger
Like your header picture with the fire and cat. We never eat at our table either. Seems every flat surface around here gets decorated sooner or later. Hope your hand gets better soon.
ReplyDeleteLove the Halloween display.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a nice place to display your Halloween decorations. Everything shows well and looks pretty.

ReplyDeleteI love your table. We manage to keep half of ours to eat on, but my husband keeps the other half cluttered beyond anything I could imagine. Papers and his "junk" as I like to say.
ReplyDeleteYour table looks pretty! I was hesitating with the Robert Galbraith book, glad I didn't buy it now. It is a shame that sometimes series become a bit stale.
ReplyDeleteYou have some beautiful decor, the table looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteI love those windows and the light you have there at the table. It's so dark living in a small log home. Those glass pumpkins are beautiful. A few nights ago there was a special on the local news about glass pumpkins and how they are made. It was amazing to watch how the glass is blown and the stem curled just perfect. I've just caught up looking at your pictures from Japan. I didn't realize that the rooms you stay in have the table where you sit on the floor, and that you sleep on the floor...That is so interesting. Guess you can tell I've done very little traveling. :)
ReplyDeleteYour table and decorations are really adorable. I just finished a new book by Alexander MaCall Smith, The Good Pilot, Peter Woodhouse. I enjoy his books. Don had his Cat Scan today, hope to get results soon.
ReplyDeleteI love your decorated table! I only decorate for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteAs a teenager, I used to read a lot of Georgette Heyer books.
I really like your new decorative designs! it's beautiful so much and good idea on site.

ReplyDeleteNice pumpkin collection!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love those glass pumpkins! Such a pretty fall vignette! x
ReplyDeleteWe are re-visiting some old Agatha Christie movies and totally enjoying them. Think of the ladies who played Miss Marple: Dame Margaret Rutherford, Joan Hickson (my favorite), Geraldine McEwan, Angela Lansbury...and more. Christie's books are timeless.
ReplyDeleteInteresting glass pumpkins and they do look pretty on your table. I like your header, too, with the cat staring into the fire, plotting who knows what!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty display! I hate when I read a series of mediocre books. Hope you find a good one soon!
ReplyDeleteLovely table! We use our kitchen table, don't have a sining table per se, so am limited on decorating.Love the glass pumpkins! Have you seen the Blenko ones?
