A Good investment

Today we finally did something we've been talking about for a couple of years.  We've signed a contract to have a staitlift it in
Our house is built on a flood plain which means you have to go up at least 10 steps to reach a door to our house.  I'm tired of it and Mac is tired of hauling groceries up.
Should be in about 3weeks.

  6. Good idea. I paid for a stair lift for my son which he said was the end of struggling upstairs.

  7. That sounds fantastic--a stairlift! We have 6 steps up to the door, and some days they are just six steps too far. We've been considering re-doing them so there would be fewer steps, or even a ramp. One day. Not yet. But it's something we've been discussing.

  8. Great idea. I stayed at a cottage in the Keys that had a 15 foot elevation and I was sick of it in less than a week.
    You will love it.

  9. A wise decision! In Big Bear city, wkenders have to climb up those steps in the snow with no possibility of having a stairlift. No winning there.

  10. Great thing to get! I know a few houses ago, we decided we were done with stairs and kept it on one level from then on. Our living room is "sunken" by one step in either direction to the bedrooms or to the kitchen. That could be manageable. I've typed many a report with people having to go into assisted living or rehab because they lived in a 2 story house with the bathrooms and bedrooms on the 2nd floor. Enjoy it!

  11. Whee! That should make life easier. She many houses in the South are like that and I’ve wondered what people do when they can no longer climb those stairs.

  12. Couldn't get in soon enough with all your recent problems. Good luck with it though seems Mac will benefit the most.

  13. Our house only has one little step: from the garage to the inside of the house. I can manage that.

Ten steps doesn't sound like a lot, but once you have to do it with stuff in your hands, several times in a row it becomes a huge chore!
