Melisandre

Today was the day for my semi-annual meeting with Melisandre, the lady with the blowtorch or in other words my dermatologist.  She burned a dozen or so places off of me, but said that they were all minor and that things looked pretty good.  I asked her if I was ever going to quit growing these things and she said probably not.  Oh well, I'm good for another six months.

  3. Crikey, I am soooo ignorant. I didn't know anything could be burned off.

    1. They use liquid nitrogen, it's so cold it's hot and it feels like it's burning.

  6. I know that it is very sore as my husband had it done on his chest, but we are hopeful that once will be enough.

  7. I just noticed how many comments you had on your last posts. Everyone seems to have an opinion on dusting!
I need to find one s dermatologist down here as I'm sure it's time for my checkup, too. It's the price we pay for not knowing about sunscreen way back when.

  8. I've had the same dermatologist since we moved down here. For routine I see his PA here in town, when they actually have to take something off and keep going till they have clear tissue I have to go out to Hinesville to see him.

  10. I have a few bothersome spots too but actually enjoy having them burned off as they irritate me. I have a year inbetween appointments. :)

  11. Good nothing suspicious was found. I had to laugh at my son's experience with a dermatologist years ago. He had plantar warts (bottom of feet) as well as on his fingers. We had been to the primary care doctor who tried to freeze them off but it wasn't working. Go to the dermatologist and he said his freezing method would work. Twice the size of "gun" the primary care doctor used and twice the pain, but it worked!
