We have strawberries already and boy are they sweet! We have to pick them when they're about half-ripe or the critters eat them before we can get them. We picked the first one on Friday, left it to ripen a bit more on the kitchen counter and ate it today. It was sooooo sweet. There are a bunch more out there, but they're still white so I'll have to wait awhile to pick them. What a nice surprise.
I haven't grown strawberries in years. So easy, so good.
ReplyDeleteYum.

Oh, that is a sweet surprise, and in February! When I read your last comment on my blog, I thought, wonder why I never see a post from you...well, your blog is one of those missing from my new list. Remember back when I accidentally deleted all the blogs. I'm sorry. So glad I figured that out. I can be so dumb! :)
ReplyDeleteStrawberries in February sound like a real treat. We'll see the first homegrown towards the end of June....
ReplyDeleteWhat?!! That's wonderful!
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice to get that first taste, isn't it? Way too early for me.
ReplyDeleteLove your header!
I didn't think they ripened after you pick them.
ReplyDeletecheers, parsnip
Homegrown strawberries are the best!
ReplyDeleteI had three strawberries last year and that was it. I decided no more fruits and veggies here, they just don't grow well. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh... to think you are already seeing strawberries! No sign of something that sweet around here just yet.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a wonderful week ahead...

we won't be seeing strawberries here for months!
ReplyDeleteNo Strawberries here unfortunately. It will be months yet before I see one.
ReplyDeleteThat's indicative of the difference between your climate and ours. Mind you, these days you can most things in the shops all year round - though I miss part of the excitement of seasonal changes in some ways.
ReplyDeleteA very nice surprise :)
ReplyDeleteStrawberries already, how wonderful! Did you know they're my favorite food? I'll have to wait until May before I can pick any at my house, though. Enjoy!
