In the BackYard Again
Mac called me out to the backyard to greet some visitors, We had 8 Canadian Geese out there. Usually we'll get a mated pair, but this year it looks like a flock of bachelors have landed. We always call them the Honk Brothers. We fed them a load of bread and just enjoyed the sunshine.

How nice! That's a lot of geese! Honk, honk. :)
ReplyDeleteThe arrival of Canadian geese in spring and their departure in autumn have defined changing seasons where ever I've lived.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful birds. So nice to see them in nature and not in the local pond at the park.
ReplyDeleteOh fun!!! I will be ever so glad to see some open water here!!! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteDo you have a lake behind of your house? Wow!! and a bunch of visitors .. :D :D
ReplyDeleteIt looks so pretty there and I love the geese. We have a few fly over the pond occasionally but they rarely stop. When one does stop for a rest our old Muscovy duck chases it away.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely what a beautiful sight !
ReplyDeleteDo you still have alligators in the lake ? I hope the Canadian Geese do not get eaten.
cheers, parsnip and mandibles
What a lovely place your backyard is. The birds are pretty. They look so happy.
ReplyDeleteNow I remember you saying in Kyoto that one crocodile came to your place.
Happy new week to you, Mac and your daughter in Japan.
Love Canadian Geese. Lucky you. B x
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to have the geese so close. At one time I could get out to nearby lakes to see them arrive. Love to see them in flight.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful, we have a few visitors in the croft behind the outbuilding. They are so majestic.
ReplyDeleteSuper visitors to get in your back yard. They are very noisy though with all their honking:)
ReplyDeleteWow, if a female flies in she will be the belle of the ball. Didn't know the bachelors hung out together.
ReplyDeleteThey are just a bit bigger than the birds we get in our back garden!
ReplyDeleteThe Honk Brothers must love you! I bet they will hang around if you feed them.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! There are geese down by Madison but none have come back to our area yet.
ReplyDeleteHope your weather has moderated and is now behaving itself. :)
What a nice surprise!
ReplyDeleteHonk brothers, lol!
ReplyDeleteLove the honk brothers! Haha! We have a lot of geese and every year a couple of couples that hang around and make a little family. We love watching them grow up. Yay Eagles, huh!! Showed those cheating Patriots!!!
