A Bit Late With This

I meant to post this right after the Fourth of July, but didn't get around to it.  The Low Country Boil was even better than I hoped, the corn was so sweet.  When it got dark we took the Badger and Godzilla outside and played with Sparklers and Poppers (you throw them down and they pop).  Both Badger and Godzilla had a good time.

Then we went inside and drank Mimosas and watched Independence Day.  We've seen it a couple of times, but felt it was appropriate.

Healthwise I'm doing well, had a PET scan and it looked good, both my doctors are pleased.  So we're going to do a prophylactic 10 day radiation of my head.  It starts tomorrow.  Then I have till September  and then have my port cleaned.  In October I'll have another PET scan and they'll just be monitoring me.  I'm very pleased.

  2. I too am glad you are doing well. All that extra treatment you describe sounds a bit uncomfortable. I do hope it isn't.

  7. So happy for you Janet. Hope things continue to improve with your health. Seems just two months ago I knew nothing of ports and chemo, radiation, etc. I wish so much I could return to that innocent time!

  8. So glad that things are going well! Guess what, my sister was visiting here from Colorado and she made us a low country boil! (She used to live in Hilton Head years ago and so, she makes it all the time out there and everyone loves it! She says she gets great corn in Colorado too, must be cause its close to Kansas! Good potatoes too, guess the crops out west are really good!)
I am getting hungry thinking of this! :-)

  14. I just got caught up on your blog. So glad you are doing well and the PET scan looks good! That’s wonderful news. My cousin did a low country boil last year at our reunion. There’s was a little spicy for me. But good! It’s been so hot here I haven’t been out much. You looked great ringing that bell. I hope you breeze through your radiation and this is all behind you very soon!
