We went to the Cotton Exchange for lunch and didn't have our old reliables----Low Country Boil for Mac and Shrimp Salad for me--. Mac had Fried Grouper and Shrimp (he would have preferred it to have been broiled or baked) and I had a Shrimp Po Boy. They were good, but not as good as our old favorites. We also shared a plate of Calamari and it was delicious.
There would be more pictures but I'm having trouble getting them off my phone.
In Big News we have air conditioning---FINALLY.
Glad to hear about the AC! Shrimp dishes are nice but unfortunately I suffer afterwards as I am somewhat allergic!
ReplyDeleteSounds delicious.My kind of food.
ReplyDeleteSo Happy that even if not your favorite your lunch was good. Better than the country fried steak like before !
ReplyDeleteYea about the Air conditioning.
cheers, parsnip and badger
By the way Mac look very much like an artist !
You are looking really well.
ReplyDeleteThat is always disappointing when you go to a favorite place and they are out of your favorite dishes. Next time- there is always next time. SOOOO glad you have air conditioning. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteSometimes stepping out of our comfort zone can be a good thing, other times, it's just OK! ;) I hope the calamari made up for it! xo
ReplyDeleteYay for AC; you have been brave.
ReplyDeleteGlad you finally have AC, hope the storm isn't too bad for you!
ReplyDeleteYippee for the air conditioning. Your are in my prayers as the storm approaches.
ReplyDeleteI tried Calamari once and decided never to try it again.
ReplyDeleteI like the photograph. I am having trouble getting my pics off the phone. I wonder, is something going on we should know about?
Glad you had a good lunch and also that you have your air conditioning working again:)
ReplyDeleteYour favorite lunch choices sound good to me, though of course it makes sense to try new things, and it is always nice to go out for lunch with your sweetie.
ReplyDeleteOh Janet...anyone in the South knows getting your AC back is very big news!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great picture of you two! Good grief, I'm so glad your AC is working again. I would probably go off the deep end if our's went out in the heat.
ReplyDeleteNice to see a photo of the both of you :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you will be safe as the storm heads south. Coastal Georgia sounds pretty wet to me. Do take care. Lunch sounds wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI sounds like a great lunch!
ReplyDeleteWorrying about you and Mac with this hurricane hanging around. I hope all is well.
ReplyDeleteNothing like a good lunch and cool home. Makes me want to take a nap haha.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.
Saimi
We've never eaten in the Cotton Exchange and I'm not sure why. Is it as hot and humid there after the hurricane as it is here? The humidity has been 100% since we got back home, even when it's not raining. I'm not sure how that can be! Anyway, glad to hear you got your air back finally.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you have air conditioning. hmmm...calamari....I just can't like it!
ReplyDeleteCindy
Happy Anniversary - a little late! Lunch sounds yummy - and air conditioning a good thing. Hope you have not had any of the rain from Florence. x Karen
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you've got the air conditioning sorted out, you'll be very pleased about that. I often go for old favourites when dining out, if I go for something new I often find it wasn't as good as what I usually choose and then I'm disappointed.
ReplyDeleteSounds lovely! Glad you've got the air conditioning going and you're doing well.
ReplyDeleteSo lovely to see the photograph of the two of you.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Can't imagine what it must have been like without AC where you live! Glad to know it's sorted.
ReplyDeleteFried grouper and shrimp sounds delicious.
P.S. The header painting is fascinating.
DeleteGlad you had a good lunch and also that you have your air conditioning working again:)
