Almost Ready

I found my gold icicles, they were hiding in a bag with other gold ornaments and all I had to do was turn the bag over.  Mac found my two small trees and my painting of Santa.  All the Christmas Critters have been found.  So the decorating is done.
The last two days have been spent cleaning our daughter's room and bathroom.
Now I need to start making cookies, Thursday probably.  I always make Chocolate Chip and Sugar Cookies.
We're having a much colder than normal December with lows near freezing at night----BRRRRRR!  The fireplace is on most of the time, Miss Kitty loves it.
Of course I've been reading.  Finished Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty,  one of my favorite authors, but I have to say I was underwhelmed.  I don't know if it's me or the books I've been reading but I sure haven't been impressed lately.

Mac just set up my new little train and checked to see if ran--it did.

  1. We collect Sarah from the airport this Friday evening. It's exciting having them home for Christmas isn't it?

  2. It is looking very festive. It is my husband's birthday today so we don't do decorations until after that. Our granddaughters are staying over on Saturday night after we have been to the pantomime and I am thinking they might like to help.

  4. Glad you found your golden icicles. It looks cheerful and festive in your house, wonderful. I have to read Nine Perfect Strangers for book group. I am not particularly keen, the blurb seems a bit boring. I enjoyed a new to me crime author, Denzyl Meyrick. The books are set in the West of Scotland, which probably attracted me to it. I also enjoyed The Queen of Bloody Everything" by Joanna Nadin and Becoming by Michelle Obama and finally, Transcription by Kate Atkinson.

  6. Love all your decorations, Daughter will be home soon and she will love it.
Agatha would love your home lots of toys to perform brain surgery on.
I am finishing my card right now and printing tomorrow. So everyone will be getting very late cards from me. Package to Japan will be very late but some fun to open later. It is the thought that counts.
It has been a tough last 2 months.

  8. It all looks very nice. I wish I had your enthusiasm. I can't even find my decorations. Looked in all my cupboards to see if they were there but no joy.

  9. It's all coming together well! I've abandoned a few books lately, too. I guess I just can't be bothered to stick with something that doesn't grab me within the first couple of chapters. Happy baking! -Jenn

  10. Your decorations look fabulous, very festive. What a shame about the Liane Moriarty book, I've enjoyed books I've read by her in the past.

  12. I'm glad to hear you are getting your daughter's room ready -- that means she will be coming home for Christmas! We just returned from Christmas #2 with one daughter and I will be getting the boxes finished and mailed before we leave for Christmas #3 with another daughter and #4 with my mom and sister. I'm not sure we will do all this holiday travel again but we are committed for this year. Cuz supposedly we have nothing else to do because we are RETIRED! :-)
