Five on Friday

Another Friday and time to join Amy and the other bloggers at Love Made My Home for Five on Friday.  It's been a fast week with not much going on, typical January I guess.  So here's my five.

One:  I made new "springy" pillows for our couch and finally put the Christmas ones away,

Two:  Even though it's just the middle of January I've started decorating my table for Valentine's Day because I love the color red.

Three:  It has taken me forever to get around to it, but I have finally cleaned out the two junk drawers in the kitchen.  The one on the right looks like I running an optical shop and that's after I took out a half dozen pair of glasses to donate.

Fourth: My daffodils are blooming and don't my Pansies looks sweet.

Fifth:   I learned the difference between Cottage Pie and Shepard's Pie.  And I made a Cottage Pie yesterday.  You can buy ground beef here, ground pork, ground turkey and ground chicken, but I have never seen ground lamb.  Always good to learn something new.

That's my five, hope you have a great weekend.

  3. I've been clearing out too. What a good feeling. AND I did my tax, which was a mental clear out of all the questions I haven't really been dealing with about all those numbers... :D
The glasses made me smile. Maybe you can make some kind of art construction with them... :D

  4. Everything in our house is shepherds pie, regardless of what it is made from - even if it were meat free! It is good with fresh shepherds in though, I find the bricks of the cottages a bit gritty in the teeth. Hee hee!! Love your teddies for valentines, I love that you love your softs so much!

  7. What pretty cushion fabric. That will certainly add a touch of spring to your couch.

And I do like your blog header... and what fun to see your daffies and pansies. Still too early for that around here.

    Wishing you a lovely weekend,
    Brenda

  8. Wow how lucky you are that things are growing! We're all suffering from a case of winter blues - little/no sunshine makes me feel so grumpy. I can't wait to see anything grow!

    Happy Five on Friday

  12. Truly is time to put away xmas pillows and such, but I'm prolonging it too. Guess I will have to look up the difference between the two pies as I'm left here hanging!

  13. I really like the fabrics in your new pillows; they are bright and cheery. No spring flowers here for awhile so it's nice to see them on blogs like yours. Happy weekend.

  15. I've noticed since the cold spell a few daffodils have been blooming around here, too. I planted some fancy ones in October. I should see if they are coming up.
It looks like a Valentines teddy bear picnic on your table! I love the one peeking over te edge of the bowl.

  19. At the grocery store on Thursday I almost bought a bouquet of Daffodils and love seeing yours and your Pansies! I have been thinking about Valentine's Day but not put out any special decorations yet...but then I have quite a few hearts out throughout the year :) Just seeing your pretty pillows gives me hope that Spring will come. Wishing you good days! 🙂
