This Cannot Be

First David Bowie and now Alan Rickman, no, no, no.  I've been a fan of his for years.  And not just the big movies, but the smaller ones An Awfuly Big Adventure, Bottle Shock, Truly, Madly, Deeply, Blow-dry.  Didn't matter what the movie was, good, bad, indifferent, he made it better. He was the only thing worth watching in Kevin Costner's God awful Robin Hood, there'll never be another Sheriff of Nottingham.
Saw his last movie A Little Chaos when flying back from England last year.  Can't believe his wonderful voice is gone.
He will be missed.

  1. Such sad news, isn't it? He did make any film he was in better, you're right.

  2. He was a great actor, a proper actor in that he was a noted Shakespearean Actor.

  3. This was news to me, hard to take in as I've seen him in four films only this week... been rewatching the three last Potter-films + also 'Sense and Sensibility' from the 90s where for a change he played a different kind of character (Colonel Brandon).

  4. So very sad to hear this news today. One of my favourite actors, saw him twice on stage at Stratford and also in a couple of other plays in London. Loved him in the TV series Barchester Chronicles as Obadiah Slope and also many films. We bought A Little Chaos last week and have yet to watch it, it will be sad to sit through it now:)

  5. I was sad to hear of the loss of such a fine actor. Loved him in so many parts (such as Col Brandon and Sheriff of Nottingham) but many others. Loved his voice. What a shame, and again, he wasn't that very old, only 69. RIP to both David Bowie and Alan Rickman. A loss.

  7. Two talented men, they will be missed. We are looking for a copy to watch of Barchester Chronicles where Rickman plays the character of Slope. We hear he is brilliant in the role.
