Five on Friday

It's a beautiful day here in the swamp with temperatures in the 70's, how nice is that.  I've been busy making vegetable soup, with pasta and beans, so I guess I could claim it's Pasta Fagioli, doing laundry and working on the never ending cross stitch.
And of course it's Friday and time to join Amy at Love Made My Home and the other bloggers for Five on Friday.

First is the soup I've made, the whole house smells wonderful.

Second is the spring afghan I've been working on.  I work on the cross stitch tell my eyes cross and then I switch to the afghan for a while.

Third is the teapot Mac bought me.  It's Victorian and as nearly as I can tell from the registration mark on the bottom it's from 1859.  The rest of the mark is too worn to read.

It looks white in the picture, but it's really a soft, soft blue

This is what the registration mark should tell you, but even with a magnifying glass I couldn't read mine.

Fourth are some of Mac's paintings.  I'm thinking I'm going to steal the mouse in the boot, at least for my header.

And Fifth is garden work.  I planted 20 Freesias, 3 rows of Sugar Snap Peas and a pot of Nasturtiums.
It's been beautiful here all week, a joy to be outside.  I hope we have 6 more weeks of winter as Puxatony Phil says we will and then a really long spring.

That's my five, have a great weekend.

Your soup looks delicious ... is there a recipe to share there? The blue teapot is a real beauty!

  5. I made soup today too. Beautiful art work by Mac. I suspect the tea pot might be a bit earlier than that.

  8. Nasturtiums! I looked at all my upside down pots under the deck today and told pig it would be another month or so to nasturtiums.

  10. I love freesias but it is too cold here unfortunately. This didn't stop me from buying some to plant in a pot. Have a lovely weekend, hopefully the weather will be just as you like it most. x

  14. Your header is very pretty. What great colours you've chosen for your afghan - so soft and springlike. We have a few more weeks until we can plant anything, but it's getting closer! Happy weekend.

  16. I really like Mac's paintings. They're adorable! What a perfect time to work on an afghan in spring colors. I started a cross stitch in the 80's...I'm waiting for mauve's to come back in style before I get it back out! ha ha

  18. I love Mac's latest paintings, especially the one in your header. I also love the colors in your spring afghan. We are having a cold day, high 48, before we head back into the 70s again. We've been walking at the beach just about every day lately, soaking up the beautiful weather.

  20. The mouse in the boot is wonderful. And I'm very jealous of your teapot. Have you tried doing a rubbing of the mark? It might reveal a bit more detail.

  21. Ah, temps in the 70's. I am a bit envious of that! It has been a colder and snowier winter than usual for us, and I am growing weary. I would certainly love a bit of sunshine and warmth right about now.

Thanks for visiting my Five on Friday.

    Blessings,
