Almost There

My desk is done and it looks great, but Mac says no photos till his is done.  I need to start putting stuff in it and on it so it will be nice and messy just like the last one.  We moved my old desk down the stairs and into the garage which now has a couch and a desk in it.  Looks like someone has moved in there.  Mac's old desk was in such bad shape he just took it apart.
I'm sitting here now listening to the whine of his drill as he puts his drawers together..  I'm amazed at his patience.
We started watching the British version of The Office and though we like Martin Freeman and Mackenzie Crook (absolutely loved The Detectorists,  and we're thrilled that there is going to be a 3rd season and Acorn will stream it here early in 2018), we just couldn't get into it.  Oh well.
Watched a really silly Bruce Willis, John Goodman movie Once Upon A Time in Venice.
The critics hated it, people who watched it liked it.  We're Bruce Willis fans and we enjoyed it.  Wouldn't recommend unless you're in the mood for a silly movie.

Next up is Their Finest will Gemma Atherton and Bill Nighy, we usually like his movies a lot.
I'm running out of a colored thread on my cross-stitch and I'm hoping to eke it out and finish the parts that call for it.  Mac says he'll take me shopping for thread to match, but we'd have to go to A.C. Moore in Savannah and I feel too lazy to do it.  So here's hoping.
Chik-fil-A  style sandwiches for lunch today.  A bit warm today and that's about all I'm willing to fix.

  1. Hi there! The new header is lovely. So Fall, and I do love cats, but don't have one. Years ago, we always had cats, but then grandchildren came along, and several were severely allergic to them. One by one we found them new homes, and now only have our little Shih Tzu, Molly. No was is allergic to her and she was 13 last July.

  3. We enjoyed the US version of the office (not so much when Steve Carroll left), the UK one just made us cringe too much. Hope the desk is ready soon xx

  4. I tried to watch the UK version but it made me shudder. Wasn't interested in the US one.
Adore Bill Nighy have you seen him in "State Of Play" fabulous. I saw it on BBC and it was heart stopping. All my favorite actors were in it.

    cheers, parsnip

  5. We watched the British 'The Office' ages ago when we had BBC America. We laughed a lot, but did cringe just as much. Loved 'An Idiot Abroad' by the same creators (Gervais and Merchant) where they sent a barely-willing staffer on international treks.

Highly recommend 'About Time' movie with Bill Nighy. It came out a few years ago, and it is funny in a very sweet way.

  6. I love the detectorists! It was really good. Glad to hear there's a new one coming out. One of my favourite shows is Vera. There are never enough episodes to keep me happy!

    1. It's not Miss Kitty, but it sure looks like her. Haven't quite finished with that color, should get it done today.

  11. BOYCOTT AMERICAN WOMEN!

    http://BoycottAmericanWomen.blogspot.com

I am an American man, and I have decided to boycott American women. In a nutshell, American women are the most likely to cheat on you, to divorce you, to get fat, to steal half of your money in the divorce courts, don't know how to cook or clean, don't want to have children, etc. Therefore, what intelligent man would want to get involved with American women?

American women are generally immature, selfish, extremely arrogant and self-centered, mentally unstable, irresponsible, and highly unchaste. The behavior of most American women is utterly disgusting, to say the least.

This blog is my attempt to explain why I feel American women are inferior to foreign women (non-American women), and why American men should boycott American women, and date/marry only foreign (non-American) women.

    1. Maybe you just need to build one or blow up one that meets your specifications.

  12. Looks like you've been spammed.
Header reminds me of two of my previous cats. Nice.

  13. Enjoy your new desk! :) I'm very happy with mine that I got last winter + two new chests of drawers in the study. My brother helped me put them together (meaning he did it all!) It was a "facelift" for the room and no regrets!

  14. We loved The Detectorists, too. Should have had a couple more seasons. We are watching The Durrells in Corfu and loving it. It's based on author Gerald Durrells' books and a second season is coming out so we are trying to catch up on the first one.
Hope you are enjoying the nicer weathe as much as we are! Is the kitty in the new header your cat? I love his/her eyes. So expressive.

    1. We watched the earlier version of the Durrells and have watched this one fitfully, we like them both. Mac read the book it's based on as well as Laurence Durrell's book.
