Making chili for lunch today because it has finally turned cold--YEAH!, it's been in the 70's all week, just too darn warm for this time of year. But it will probably warm back up for Christmas, it always does.
A little more decorating today and then I've got to do so wrapping, my closet is clogged with boxes and I can hardy walk there, so I must get to work.
Thought I'd show a couple of photos of the Christmas Market at Union Square, small, but it smelled to good.
And one of the fantastic places we found while wandering the streets was Eataly a fabulous Italian food center owned by Mario Batali and others. It's 50, 000 feet of Italian goodness. Mario (one of our favorite chefs describes it as a grocery store with tasting rooms. It was incredible and I could have eaten in every restaurant. We bought a cheese ( which turned out to not be very good), a salami (which was wonderful) and some good crusty bread.
What a darling Christmas market, and Eataly looks like a little bit of heaven on earth! Craving some good Italian salami now....
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your cooler weather. :)
I love your new header picture; it's lovely. Sounds like you had so much fun in NYC. Being from Washington State, Mario Batalli's father has a store in the Pioneer Square district of Seattle where he sells his Salumi brand of cured meats. It seems that cooking has been part of this family for a long time. Regarding your closet, My closet looks bare now after wrapping all the presents. Enjoy your day. Pat xx

The new picture (header) is so cheery. I love it. We have snow in the UK but they say it will only last two to three days. I like the name Eataly - good choice considering they are Italian.
ReplyDeleteEataly, what a great play on words, and the place itself sounds wonderful. We still haven't got our tree up yet, I was hoping to do it last weekend but Eleanor's home from uni tomorrow so I'll probably do it tonight as I'd like it up before she arrives home.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your tree and living room. That is such a pretty Christmas market. Oh, I love the picture of the Cardinal...the header. Is that a painting by Mac? It is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat Italian Food Centre looks wonderful! We have nothing similar in our city although there are a few specialist shops here and there. It's nice to have something under one roof. Looking forward to seeing your decorated tree.
