My Christmas cactus is blooming, well at least one of them is, I don't know what the others are doing, planning on being Easter cacti perhaps.
Cookie baking today, lashings of chocolate chip cookies were made. Their saving grace is that they're so rich you can only eat one. Tomorrow I'll make sugar cookie dough and refrigerate it.
Mac got an order for a painting today and the lady wants it before Christmas (she lives in Massachusetts) , well good luck, all he can do is mail it today, which he did, the rest is up to the USPS.
Gloomy day, but that's ok, too busy to really notice. They're predicting we'll be around 70ยบ by Monday, not very Ho, Ho, Ho.
Our daughter arrives Monday afternoon, if United We Not Much of an Airline, gets her here on time. From Japan to D.C. she flies ANA which is a great airline, but from DC to Savannah it's United, a not so good airline. Last year she was 4 hours late and year before last they cancelled her return flight in the middle of the night a few hours before she was due to leave. So fingers crossed.
Love Christmas Cacti. I've had one ten years I don't know what i'm doing wrong because it's never flowered. x
ReplyDeleteOur Christmas cactus bloom on their own schedule, too. They're welcome any time.
ReplyDeleteIt will be lovely to be with your daughter again - fingers crossed that all goes well with her flights - enjoy the cookies.
ReplyDeleteI don't really do houseplants but I've treated myself to a Christmas cactus this year, it has lots of buds on it so I'm hoping that it blooms in time for Christmas. I hope you're daughter arrives safely and without any problems with her flights.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a lovely time with your daughter. Japan is even worse than London - I mean, further away (I'm sure it's lovely in its way). I shall never get used to my daughter not living here.
ReplyDeleteYou mentioned last year and the year before, so fingers are crossed that the third year's the charm. :) Hope you have a wonderful visit.
ReplyDeleteI hate air travel anymore. It is really a toss up whether you will get where you need to be on time and can make connections you need to make. I hope your daughter's trip is uneventful.
ReplyDeleteMy CHRISTMAS cactus bloomed in November...a tad confused, I guess.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! xo Diana
Such a pretty Christmas cactus! I know you are definitely looking forward to your daughter's time she'll have with you all! Hoping her traveling goes smoothly!

My cactus has lovely pink buds. I'm quite surprised actiually as the flowers don't usually coincide with Christmas! Do hope the flights don't play up for you.
ReplyDeleteThe cactus is lovely. Hope your daughter arrives on time:)
ReplyDeleteYes, fingers crossed that your daughter has an easy and trouble-free journey. I once kept cacti. The 'Christmas' one never knew whether to flower at Christmas or Easter.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! And nice it actually made a Christmas appearance and lived up to its name.
ReplyDeleteSo exciting that your daughter is coming home for the holidays. Fingers crossed her travel goes well.
ReplyDeleteHope you get a wonderful time with your daughter :)
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas Cactus is beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteWow that is a most beautiful Christmas Cactus.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
