I'm Waiting

And not very patiently either.  I'm tired of summer, it's boring, I'm so over it.  I want autumn leaves that give a Godly crunch (or so McAllister says) when you walk through them.  The picture on the left is what I want, the picture on the right is what I get, a swimming pool that's being overrun with wild morning glories.  You may think that sounds good, but after 5 months of 85º-95º temperatures and humidity that frequently makes it feel like it's over a 100º I assure you, autumn sounds great and winter sounds even better.

  1. I can understand that. We're having a wonderful September here, still a bit of summer lingering, but not "too" much, and autumn is slowly on the way... Just the way I like it. (Early autumn is my favourite time of year. Late autumn and winter, not so much though!!! So always a bit of mixed feelings!)

  2. I love Autumn and I can imagine how you must long for it. Here in Ireland it's still quite warm but we have early morning mist and have the fire lit in the evenings. Like your new blog header BTW

  3. I couldn't be more opposed to your thoughts if I tried. I really hate winter, and would do anything to prolong what remains of our delicious summer.

  4. I'm sure you're ready for some cooler Autumn days after a long hot Summer; I'd like a little more sunshine over here before the cold, wet, grey days start, and a dip in the pool - not that we have one!

  5. I am not in any hurry to feel the winter - thank you however, I can understand how wearing and oppressive the heat can be.

  6. Agreed. We're in the 70's now and no humidity and I am praising God.

  8. At last! Someone who agrees with me! I'm sooooo over summer -- just said that to someone the other day! I'd rather be a little cold than hot. Autumn and spring are my favorite seasons.

  9. Hi there, just catching up now that I am back, I have been reading, just not commenting. I understand what you mean about wanting the change of seasons. When we got home I am sure that it was hotter than when we left and definitely a lot hotter than in New England, it is supposed to be cold in Old England surely, not hotter!! I hope that things cool down for you soon, then you can get out and clear away the morning glories! xx

  11. Hello from Weaver. I don't think I envy you living in the deep South with that humidity, although I have only been down that part of the world once and it wasn't too bad when I was there.
I do rather fancy a pool overrun with Morning Glories which only grow under protest here. But we too have had a good summer and I must agree with you that I am rather looking forward to Autumn.

  12. I do love the Autumn and the colours of the leaves, the fresh, crisp air, even the rain. I also love the root veggies, which are abundant and a great prices at this time of year.
