New Header

My new April header touches my heart, because of all the dogs we've owned through the years I only claimed one as my own and that was Charlie our sheepdog.  We owned him when we lived in Augusta, GA on a couple of acres of land.
He knew he was head honcho and when we'd come driving up he run all the way around the house making sure that the animals who were supposed to be there--the cats and horses---were there and any wild critters weren't near the house.  Then he'd run up to greet us and let us know that all was well.
He was sweet beyond belief and it almost broke my heart when he died.  We tried other sheepdogs, but it was never the same.
So Mac painted this picture for me.  I'm going to call it Charlie and Friends.

  3. Nice of your Mac to paint for you! Good dogs are sometimes once in a lifetime. I have had three that were really mine and each loss broke my heart:(

  4. The painting is lovely and heartbreaking when I think of your story of loss behind it. Lost my own best friend 25 years or so ago and have never been able to adopt another dog for myself, but love to visit my "grand dogs" when I see my daughters and their families.
