Saturday's Child Must Work For a Living

Not quite this bad, but almost
Well this poor Saturday child began her day with cleaning the oven.  Mac helped, he took the racks outside and worked on them.  I'm not going to say the over is clean, but it is cleaner.
Two days of sunshine, no rain, how nice is that!    I didn't have to jump in the pool until after I cleaned the oven.
Today is Middle Child Day and I'm a middle child, never the first, nor the baby, looking for my own place in the sun.  I was the family comedian.  Gotta stand out some way.  Mac is a middle child too.
I always told our daughter that she got to be what I always wanted to be, an only child.
Ninety-two today and tomorrow, so it was beer and shrimp yesterday and steak sandwiches today.  Cannot deal with heavy meals this time of year.

What day of the week were you born on?

Monday's child is fair of face,
Tuesday's child is full of grace,
Wednesday's child is full of woe,
Thursday's child has far to go,
Friday's child is loving and giving,
Saturday's child works hard for a living,
But the child who is born on the Sabbath day
Is bonnie and blithe and good and gay.

  1. I'm full of grace so leave the oven to be cleaned by DH.

  4. Last time I cleaned the oven the glass oven door came unstuck. Just before Christmas. Not a good time. Thank goodness for Amazon and oven glue :). I've told my better half I'm not cleaning the oven again, goodness knows what might drop off. Sadly he's still not got the hint that I would like a new one. I'm a Sunday girl....Easter Sunday just in time for Easter eggs! B x

  5. I have had thoughts similar to yours, about quite a few nasty to clean items. I am a Tuesday's child. (Now I know why they used to call me 'Grace.' Had nothing to do with my being a klutz, no sir. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.)

  6. Isn't it the worse job ever? But I'm too mean to pay someone else to do it. Google just told me I was born on a Thursday, far to go. Hm, I wonder when I'll get there.

  7. I was a Sunday baby. All of my children were Wednesday babies except my last son was a Friday's child and he fits that perfectly. Hope you have a great weekend- xo Diana

  8. Well, now I've never bothered to figure out what day of the week I was born on, but I just did now that I've read your post. I was born on a Friday, so I'm loving and giving. I am not sure if that is always accurate or not. I have a self cleaning oven now, yippee! -Jenn

  10. I'm a Saturday child. Checked hubby's date of birth, he was a Friday. Son a Saturday child too. Grandson a Monday child. I do work hard for a living, but at least I'm still making (barely) a living (my pay has been cut close to 50% at work over the past 10 years due to this and that, thankfully hubby's hasn't :)

  11. I'm currently trying to locate an oven cleaner... a male version that touts for business. My excuse for not doing it is an inability plus reluctance to bend for long periods. I ain't a Wednesday's child for nothing!!

  12. I always leave the oven cleaning to Mick, he makes a good job of it. I was born on a Tuesday, full of grace, which is funny as I gave Eleanor Grace as a middle name.

  13. A middle child, and a Thursday's child, so I've a long way to go, apparently. We could use some of your rain as it looks to be a dry, dry week here. Gardening is tough in this weather, the plants look so beaten down. Cooking--well, I tend to make too much of everything so whatever I make is what we eat for 3 days, LOl!

  15. I didn't know what day of the week I was born but just looked it up on Google and I am a Monday's child.
Mind you I am having a new oven this week, however, my old one is 21 years old.

  16. I'm a Friday's child but I I always thought I was more of a Thursday's child who has far to go. My oven has a couple places that are permanently discolored so I can't get too excited about cleaning it. Why do they discolor anyway?

  17. Clean the oven? That's not going to happen more than every three years at my house.

  18. I'm a Thursday's child ...
I'm expert at wiping the oven over but Eddie is a star oven cleaner - I'm so lucky!

    All the best Jan
