The first place we went to said it'd be over an hour before they could even look at it. So we went else where to Savannah Tire. Knew they'd be more expensive, but would get it done quickly. And they did. Of course, as it turned out the tire couldn't be repaired so we'd have to buy a new one. I have really good tires on my car, a set of them runs a bit over a $1,000. So after just putting in a new heating unit you know we weren't putting that expensive a tire on the car, plus they'd have to order one and that it would be some time that afternoon before it got there. Nope, we got a less expensive, notice I didn't say cheap because it wasn't, alternative. They had us out in under an hour. An expensive visit, but relatively quick.
Got to find a cheaper way to continue this year.
My less expensive Falken Tire |
The more expensive Yokahoma Tire. I think the Falken looks every bit as good. |
Not much fun and a lot of expense. Hope all goes well with it now.
ReplyDeleteIt's tiresome paying out for things that are essential but not a lot of fun. You can't say "Oh, come and look at my lovely new tire!"
ReplyDeleteNeed new tires this year. After replacing a ball joint come Monday. $$$$$$
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year
Having to get a new tire isn't much fun. No glamor to it. :(
ReplyDeleteSome cars when you damage one tire they all have to be replaced...so you were lucky! :) Hope you luck gets better:)
ReplyDeleteGlad you could get it replaced quickly! How horrible to have yet another expense. Hope there isn't a third one in store! My Mum always says things come in threes.
ReplyDeleteOuch! Here's wishing there's an end to the outgo for awhile.
ReplyDeleteFunnily enough I've been doing the same thing, luckily though it turned out to be a puncture which was easily fixed and not so expensive. There's always something with cars!
ReplyDeleteI kind of miss all that now I've got rid of the car.
ReplyDeleteAlways an expensive business and such an irritation to pick up the nail when when the tyre was still in good condition:)
ReplyDeleteSo fortunate you weren't on the road with a complete flat. Bummer you had to get a new one though.
ReplyDeleteDon't you hate spending money on stuff like that? I know I do...and good tires ARE expensive! Hope you have a great week- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYou do have a bit of bad luck so far this year! Of course, I can't talk because we noticed this morning we have a leak somewhere that caused the whole lower part of our south brick wall to be wet. We hope it is the sprinkler system which might have busted in the freeze the other day and not an inside the wall plumbing problem. Fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteCars can sometimes get expensive to run!
ReplyDeletePleased you got it sorted though.
All the best Jan
Oh, that is a bummer! Glad you weren't too far from home and were able to get to the tire shop, though. I just told the Mr. that we need a couple of those tire pumps. We just lost all our outside lights for some reason. Every time we hit the switch, it kicks off the breaker. Sigh......It's always something, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteYikes, that's no fun! We have to replace all our tires on our vehicles before we move, and we're not looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteThere must be something in the air...my car battery gave out on me just recently. Ticked me off, since it wasn't even two years old. AAA had to give me a jump, and luckily the battery was still under warranty so they gave me a new one. But still a pain to deal with it all.
