Veteran's Day Treat

Took my Veteran out to breakfast at Denny's this morning.  Had to wait in line because everyone else had the same idea.  Denny's was giving veterans a free breakfast to say thank you for your service.  It took awhile, but it was delicious.
Quite chilly and drizzly here today so I stayed indoors and did some cross-stitch.  Mac went out and finished putting our new bar-b-que together.  He said it had the worse directions he's ever had to use.
We have the family room fireplace on today and Miss Kitty is most appreciative.

  1. I put the heater on this morning it was nippy 36 when I let the dogs out. IJust to take the chill off the house. It warms up for the day. Next week all middle 40's right where it should be.
I am happy to know you went out for a nice breakfast and very happy to know you are with your Veteran.

    cheers, parsnip and badger

  2. A cozy way to spend this dreary day, Janet. Give Mac a hug and a thank you from me. He earned that breakfast!

  5. There were dinners at the Legion on Saturday, and local places on Sunday and Monday...but we didn't feel up to going out :(

  6. A lovely token of appreciation to enjoy breakfast. Instructions on flat pack things are a disaster too.

  9. Nice of Denny's. And nice of you to turn the fireplace on and make your kitty happy! It was 37 degrees two nights ago here. That's January weather!

  10. That was nice of Denny’s. And thank you to your veteran! My husband only reads directions if he’s having difficulty putting something together and he always has extra parts! We’ve had awful weather here. Totally missed Fall and went straight to winter.

  11. It's nice to see companies showing their appreciation in this way, I hope you both enjoyed your breakfast. The weather's turning much cooler here too.
