What Me Worry

Weaver of Grass was writing today about whether you're a worrier or not.  I am and I've gotten worse the older I've gotten.  If I don't have something personal to worry about I worry about the state of the nation and the world----don't even get me started on that. If worrying was an Olympic sport I could worry for America, I'm that good at it.
I read an article one day in the Huffington/Post 50 by Karl A. Pillemin, Ph.D who became interested in the subject of what people regretted the most in life and was surprised to find that the most frequently mentioned item was worrying, people wished they hadn't worried so much.
I wish I didn't either, I wish I were more like Miss Kitty and these lovely Freesias and Daffodils, neither of whom has a worry in the world.

  3. I'm a worrier too , my hubby isn't. It drives me crazy when he's asleep at night snoring and I'm led next to him wide awake worrying about something!

  4. I don't worry very much, I pray more than I worry...nice to have someone on my side all the time instead of me worrying all by myself:)

  5. I worry sometimes. Daughter just packed her car and she and her dog drove across the US between snow storms to a new town. I worried about that. But she drove there save and sound.
Sometimes you just need to throw them into the wind and hope for the best.

  6. My Mother worried all the time about something...and I am just like her. I guess the weather, thunderstorms mostly, have caused us the most worry over the years. :) Like Far Side, I pray. That helps.

  7. If they have a worry Olympics you can represent America and I will compete against you to represent England! I reckon it would be close to see which of us would win!! xx

  8. I'm a huge worrier. I drive myself crazy. I really try not to, but it's so much a part of who I am as a person, I really can't help it.

  9. I do not worry about anything that I can have no effect on. Mostly my only concerns are Ben and what to have for dinner.

  10. I'm basically the queen of denial. Until 3 a.m., when those nighttime thoughts bring the "what if?" heebie jeebies.

  11. I'm a worrier. And it has definitely gotten worse as I've gotten older. The worst time for me is if I wake up in the middle of the night.

  12. I heard this saying one time and try to remind myself of it when I get worried: Worry is interest paid on a debt not yet due.

  13. It's very hard to turn off the worry machine once it gets going. I hope you can find something to take your mind off it! Does playing the piano help?

What a wonderful header photo. The glasses are particularly well done - I like the way you can see light glinting off her metal frames. :)

  14. I'm a terrible worrier, I lie awake half the night worrying about silly things and then when I get up in the morning I wonder why I was worrying about it. Love your piggy, I got a new one for Christmas which Mick bought me, I've got quite a family of them now.

  15. My Dad used to say that if I hadn't got anything to worry about I would find something, and it is true I worry so much mostly about inconsequential things, I worry about husband, friends and family, about my cats, about the future about what will happen if people in this country vote to come out of the EU, about getting old - the list is endless. I'd even worry if I had nothing to worry about:)

  16. Yes I'm a worrier too sometimes to the point or rampant anxiety and people who brush off my concerns with an 'it'll be fine' make it worse. I'm coming back as a cat definitely.

  17. If worrying was an Olympic sport ... I'd be on your team!

  18. My Dad has been in and out of hospital lately and I have spent a good amount of my time worrying. My worry somehow turns into prayer...but it would save me so much time if I could go straight into prayer and leave off the worrying!!
(By the way, my Dad is much better!)
