It's hot!!! And muggy!!! We usually hold out till noon or so before turning on the air conditioning, but it was well above 80º in the house by 10:30 and it had to come on. I did a load of laundry this morning and by the time I hung it out I was dripping in sweat, so before I started making bread (in a breadmaker, not the oven) I had to have air.
I had several jobs planned for today, but I'm not sure anything will get done except for trying to stay cool. I know there are places hotter than here, I'm thinking of all of you in Arizona, but the humidity here is a killer.
Mac is working on a couple of paintings and I think I'll crochet.
Well pooh. My nose and my conscience got the better of me. My closet has been smelling musty lately and even though I hang things in there to collect the moisture I knew it was time to give it a good cleaning.
So I emptied some shelves, filled bags for Goodwill with jeans and shorts I can no longer fit my expansive rear into any more, and then wiped the shelves down. If they were nice wooden shelves this would have gone quickly, but they're wire and it took forever. But it's done, I swept the floor out, made another bag for Goodwill of books and put everything else back. It smells so much better.
We run a dehumidifier in our bedroom nearly every day, taking gallons of moisture out of the room, but bottom line is that we live in a swamp and it's a battle.
Well done! In that kind if humidity I suspect I wouldn't have been so industrious:)
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'd get much done if I lived in your climate, well done for getting on with the jobs.
ReplyDeleteYou got a lot done for it being so hot. Good for you. I don't know how you would live without a/c there, it would be miserable. You certainly have my permission to crank that thing up whenever you like. :)
ReplyDeleteswamp is not gud for for little black dog s and nice tall people who feed kitty
ReplyDeleteI think you did so well getting so much done ...
ReplyDeleteTake care
All the best Jan
Excess humidity in summer and lack thereof in the winter....darn stuff.
ReplyDeleteHope it cools off for you soon. High heat and high humidity not a good mix.
ReplyDeleteWell, it sounds like you are making the best of things. Hot and humid is not fun! Always nice to have a tidy closet. x K
ReplyDeleteGood for you, I am not sure that I would have been able to do quite as much in that sort of humidity. I am in the process of a good sort out and de-clutter, its good for the soul.
ReplyDeleteYou have been very industrious even though it was very hot and humid. It always feels good to have a declutter and clean out of stuff too:)
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't sound all that pleasant, the weather at yours. I hope it cools down for you soon.
ReplyDeleteOn the bright side at least there's no shortage of water, the land we are looking at is pretty much a desert so we'll have the opposite problem :'(
ReplyDeletePhew, I'm hot and sweaty just reading your post.
ReplyDeletexx
I hope that cooler - or I guess less humid because cooler is a way off yet! - days come! You are so right, it is the humidity that makes everything so horrid isn't it! Stay as cool as you can!
ReplyDeleteI hear you, my backyard butts up to a swamp. I runt he air conditioner almost year round down here in Florida, it helps keeps the moisture and mold away.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Meredith
I understand way too well! Please tell me, what do you hang in your closets for moisture?
ReplyDeleteI order them from Amazon, they're called DampRid, they're dehumidifiers for the closet.
ReplyDeleteyou are a busy bee
ReplyDeleteNow, humid I really hate. I bet you felt a lot better for decluttering, it always makes me feel good. I love your header of the strawberries, by the way!
