RIP Tom Clancy

Sorry to hear that the author Tom Clancy has died.  I always enjoyed his books, particularly the first one The Hunt For Red October.  He'll be missed, there are a lot of Clancy wannabes out there, but few who write a thriller as well as he did.
I see that his last book Command Authority is due out December 2013 and the next Jack Ryan movie (the others starred Harrison Ford or Ben Affleck) Jack Ryan: Shadow One, directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Chris Pine as Jack will open on Christmas Day.

I hope both do well.

    What a shame - I thought The Hunt for Red October an excellent book and film. Shall look out for the new book.
