It's Monday

Just wondering what's going on, on a Monday at your place.  For me vacuuming seemed to be the theme of the day.  I vacuumed the family room where we spend most of our time, I vacuum it nearly every day.  Then I vacuumed the living room where nobody lives,  except a lonely spider or 2 who hang out there.  Next up was the entry way where no one ever enters, we always come up through the garage.  After that I vacuumed the dining room where no one dines, unless Miss Kitty finds a bug to nibble on.  I didn't do the stairs, but their day is coming.  Instead I went outside and vacuumed the pool.  I don't do that very often, generally I just get in with a net and get things out, but it needed a good vacuuming.  The last couple of nights have been cool for this time of year, in the high 60's, so the pool has cooled done.  A bit of a shock when you first get in, but then it feels good.
Poor Parsnip at Two Little Square Black  Dogs, her heat has gone beyond where you could even fry an egg, much worse than here, though we're due to be back up to 98º by the end of the week.
So what did you do today?

  1. I kind of like it when a pool is a bit cool. We had an above-ground pool when I was a kid and some years it would get so hot (in NY, if you can believe it) that the pool water could reach the mid-90's. It was like taking a bath, but not in a good way, lol. Today, I'm doing laundry and packing for a few days away. I just finished eating lunch with my kids and now I'm checking emails while they play. Later this afternoon, I'm going to the eye doctor!

  2. I have to vacuum every day as Archie sheds so much hair. Today, as well as vacuuming, I've been cooking and doing the dreaded chore, ironing, urgh!

  3. I've been vacuuming aswell today. I did all of the upstairs and then the stairs, tidied around, emptied bins and tried to restore order after my weekend away! I can't imagine the temps you guys have to bear. Especially with the humidity level so high.

  4. Oh my, you had to remind me, didn't you, that vacuuming is a chore that needs attending to. I had sort of decided that it wasn't on my to-do list and here you bring it up... just kidding.... It sounds like you stayed busy all day. But, at least it was cooler.

  5. I need to vacuum too! Hope you are recovered after the storm, not friendly. Glad Mac had a good fathers day, the foodie treats would not be my choice!

  7. Funny enough I vacuumed, too. Not much, just the living room before dashing off to work. I hope it cools down for you this week.

  8. I took thehamish to the eye doctors. One of his "new" lens has slip a bit but still ok.
Then we zoomed back home, ate lunch and know I am trying to comment on a few blog before I start again on my closet.
No hiking in the heat for me !

    cheers, parsnip

  9. I vacuumed yesterday morning, so today I did laundry and tended to my poor, waterlogged plants on the deck. We are getting a little warmer with some sun - hope it lasts. Wish I had a pool, but it would have to be a heated one :) Take care xx Karen

  10. I woke up exhausted from a nightmarish dream where I had returned to work (been retired since 2008) after a few years off and had to relearn everything and realized I was barefoot and in my sweats. I sat down while in a line waiting to see my supervisor and called my husband and asked if he thought we could afford for me to retire! Was so glad to wake up and find myself in my real life and just goofed off all morning.

  12. Monday is the day I do errands and attend a class...it is the only day of the week I go to town. I hate vacuuming...but then we have only a few rooms with carpet and some are never used:(
