We were out running around yesterday and the traffic was terrible. Reminded us of why we don't go out much. We were in search of the Hobby Lobby in a town up the line and finally found it. It was huge and deserving of another trip, but in a quieter location.
We had thought that we'd have lunch at the Panda Express near it, but after reading reviews on YELP (does anyone else read these?) we decided not too, there were some really bad reviews. But still in the mood for Chinese food we stopped by a local restaurant and got take out. Mac got Sweet and Sour Pork with Chicken Fried Rice and I got Honey Chicken with White Rice. We both got Spring Rolls. All I can say is that I make better Chinese food and that the last time I checked I don't have any Chinese ancestry. It was cheap, so I didn't squeal too much.
Today I've been finishing up photo projects and they went fairly quickly.
Supposed to hit 77º today, warm weather for mid-November.
Hope you're having a good weekend.
I wonder if your Hobbylobby is just like our Hobbycraft shops. Getting quite cold here now, it’s been quite mild until the last week or so, winter is definitely coming xx
ReplyDeleteI do not enjoy traffic or crowds, so well done. No Hobby Lobby or Panda Express here, so I can't comment on their food. Perhaps Hobby Lobby is like Michael's here? -Jenn
ReplyDeleteIt is only bigger.
DeleteThere's terrible traffic around our little town at the moment, there's so many roadworks going on with Virgin Media cables being laid, gas pipes being replaced and roads being widened as a new supermarket is being built, it's mayhem. I often find the same with takeaways, the thought is always mouthwatering yet the reality is often a let down.
ReplyDeleteP F Chang's is well worth the drive if one is near. I always have the lettuce wraps and have become quite addicted to them! Hubs has the Orange Peel Chicken with white rice and the Hot and Sour Soup.
ReplyDeleteWe use restaurant reviews when we are traveling and find them somewhat helpful if they are very current. The Chinese food in Georgetown is yuk. However, Panda Express in Minnesota is very good.
ReplyDelete72 and sunny up here today, just lovely! A first camellia blossom opened and the lemons are turning yellow in celebration of the last day in the 70s for the year.
I only eat out at local restaurants, where mom and pop are cooking out back. I've quit trusting other food.
ReplyDeleteWe have Panda Express here and I've had a couple of decent things but I don't think they're very good in general. We're fortunate to have a good Chinese place right down the street. They only have a few tables but they have a dine-in-only lunch special that is so great. For $5.95, you get soup, egg roll, entree and fried rice. I usually have enough entree and rice for lunch the next day too. I loooove good Chinese food.
ReplyDeleteI also like Hobby Lobby.. but it is expensive.. :(
ReplyDeleteI can't stand the Hobby Lobby near me, I never go to it. But I am lucky to have a great Joann's Fabric and Crafts, that suits me much better.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nightmare with all those cars, it seems its the same the world over.
ReplyDeleteWe are lucky in that our little town has a good Chinese - I love their food.
ReplyDeleteI love Chinese but wouldn't know where to start if I decided to prepare some Chinese food. Still, there's only me so nobody would know if I made a hash of it. The sun is out where I live but it is bitterly cold. All fires are on high.
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to traffic, I think the situation is quite the same everywhere...
ReplyDeleteHere, the traffic gets worse when you get close to a holiday.
ReplyDeleteOf course, around Atlanta, the traffic is a nightmare at all times!
We often look at places to eat and think we could make better at home. I hate being in heavy traffic, it never seems to run to any kind of logic either, sometimes the roads are moving and clear at other times travelling is a complete nightmare:)
ReplyDeleteThe roads get busier nearer to Christmas and holiday times ...
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
We haven't been to a Panda Express in a long time. We just got one on our side of town, so we might try it soon. It's probably not the greatest food, but I remember it was good and inexpensive.
